Tasting note: Alluringly-scented with honeydew and Persian melons, lime, and flowers. Juicy, luscious, and impeccably balanced, it is rich yet refreshing, displaying subtle saline, herbal and floral notes right through to a long, polished, ripe melon that might require a bib.

Region: Burgundy / France - Grape Variety: Chardonnay

Tasting notes: Vibrant aromas of spearmint and crushed stone; very Chablis. Juicy, pure and imploded; quite backward today. Flavors of pear, apple, lemon, spice and stone slowly expand with aeration, showing a chewy texture and a slight metallic quality. Still tight on the aftertaste, with a lingering flavor of dusty stone.

Chateauneuf du Pape – Domaine de la Janasse – 2002

Region: Rhone / France - Grape Variety: Grenache

Tasting notes: Saturated dark red. Explosively aromatic, highly complex nose offers kirsch, raspberry liqueur, blueberry, tarragon, baking spices, smoked meat, espresso and hot asphalt. Lush and hefty but suave, with rich flavors of sweet dark berries, framboise, candied chocolate and licorice that build and deepen with aeration. A brisk mineral note keeps the fruit in check and adds focus and lift to the knockout, silky finish.

Bourgogne - Cuvée du Pinson - Domaine Ponsot- 2002

Region: Burgundy / France - Grape Variety: Pinot Noir

Tasting notes: Deeply coloured with a twist of purple. Wide, with a high toned and slightly estery nose. The palate is well concentrated and certainly well textured. High-toned, ripe fruit in the mouth with good acidity and good length. There is plenty of wine here...
