From May 20th until July 10th 2006, Ámantee will host an exhibition

"Shadowing Light "

A photographic exhibition by, Cedric Arnold

Wine and finger food will be served on May 20th from 4 pm onwards

This delightful exhibition will intrigue art lovers of all persuasions .

The Exhibition:

"Shadowing Light" , is a collection of B&W and colour images Cedric captured off assignment around Asia , a testament to his passion for photography.

From personal projects on the fishermen of the Andaman Sea one year after the tsunami, the art of Thai tattoos and rice farmers in Isaan to candid moments in the side streets of Hanoi , Bangkok and Hong Kong - Cedric documents simple yet striking moments of everyday life. The exhibition is part of the Bangkok Month of Photography 2006.

 

The Photographer:

French/British photojournalist, Cedric Arnold started his photography carrier in London after studying at the University of Paris and The London School of Photojournalism.

Cedric was influenced by classic documentary photographers such as W Eugene Smith and took this "in depth" documentary approach to Northern Ireland , Paris , Prague , Bangkok , Phnom Penh , Hanoi.

After a first trip to Thailand and Cambodia in 2000, Cedric decided to settle in Bangkok in 2001, as a correspondent for the Corbis picture agency. He is currently working as a freelance photojournalist and commercial photographer in Bangkok , represented by Camera Press in London - covering Asia and South East Asia .

His work has been featured worldwide in publications such as: The Evening Standard, The Mail on Sunday, The Independent, Sunday Magazine, The Irish Times, Bazzar, Conde Nast, Destin Asian, Travel & Leisure, Nova, Eve, Elle, Le Parisien, La Croix, Le Point, Bangkok Post Magazine
 
In July-August 2004 Cedric's work on the Thai sport of Takraw was featured as a solo exhibition "Bangkok is our Playground" during the Bangkok Month of Photography. The same work was shown in Paris in 2005.

Cedric is currently working on a book about Contemporary Bangkok.
